Why Tubi shows ads
Tubi does not charge a subscription. Advertisers pay for the breaks you see, and that pays for the films and series in Tubi’s free library. Tubi’s help center says this directly: the ads are what keep the service free.
That is also why ads appear whether or not you sign in. A free Tubi account saves your watch history and your list, but it does not remove ads.
How many ads does Tubi show?
Tubi publishes its own estimate. Your experience can vary by title, device and region, but this is the pattern Tubi describes:
| Ad breaks on Tubi | What Tubi says |
|---|---|
| Length of a break | One to two minutes on average |
| How often | Roughly every 15 minutes |
| Total per hour | About 4 to 8 minutes of ads |
| Ad-free option | None. Tubi does not offer an ad-free subscription |
Breaks play during films and episodes, not only before them, so a long film can include several breaks.
Can you pay to watch Tubi without ads?
No. Unlike services that sell an ad-free plan, Tubi has no tier to upgrade to, and paying for another streaming service does not change ads on Tubi.
If you want to keep watching Tubi’s free library, the realistic choices are to accept the breaks or to reduce them where you watch.
How to watch Tubi with fewer ads in Chrome
BingeLift is a free Chrome extension that includes Tubi. On the Tubi website, it removes ad breaks from Tubi’s ad response before an on-demand film or episode plays. Its Tubi support was checked on Tubi in the United States.
- Install BingeLift from the Chrome Web Store on your computer.
- Open tubitv.com in Chrome and choose an on-demand film or episode.
- If Tubi was already open, refresh the page so BingeLift can start.
- Press play. Use the BingeLift popup to turn Tubi on or off at any time.
Some ads may still appear when Tubi changes how it delivers them. If that happens, check that the Tubi switch is on and refresh the page. The Tubi ad blocker page lists exactly what BingeLift covers.
What an extension cannot change
- Tubi Live TV. BingeLift’s Tubi support is for on-demand films and episodes.
- The Tubi apps. Extensions do not run inside the Tubi app on phones, tablets, smart TVs or games consoles.
- Other browsers. BingeLift is built for Google Chrome on a computer.
If a film stops playing, switch BingeLift off for Tubi and refresh. The playback help steps cover the rest.
